Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the kinesin-like protein family. Members of this family are microtubule-dependent molecular motors that transport organelles within cells and move chromosomes during cell division. This protein plays an essential role in anaphase chromosome segregation and may be necessary for coordinating sister centromere separation.
