Target Information
The Golgi apparatus participates in glycosylation and transport of proteins and lipids in the secretory pathway and consists of stacked cisternae (flattened membrane sacs). Interactions between the Golgi and microtubules are important for reorganization after mitosis. The Golgin A4 protein, part of the golgin family, is localized to the Golgi and may play a role in Rab6-regulated membrane-tethering events. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
