Product Specific Information

This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
This affinity purified antibody is directed against the 6X HIS epitope tag and is useful in determining its presence in overexpressed proteins in various assays.
The antibody recognizes the 6X HIS epitope tag (His-His-His-His-His-His) fused to either the amino- or carboxy- termini of targeted proteins in transfected or transformed cells.
Target Information
The 6x His tag is a synthetic oligopeptide consisting of six consecutive histidine residues (HHHHHH).
It is commonly expressed at either N- or C-terminal regions of recombinant proteins to allow isolation or purification by immobilized metal affinity chromatography.
Epitope tagging enables detection of proteins for which no antibody is available.
His-tagged proteins are purified by metal chelate chromatography due to the strong and selective affinity of histidine clusters to Ni²⁺ ions.
His tag-specific antibodies facilitate detection or co-immunoprecipitation of tagged proteins.
