Target Information
The Vasoactive Intestinal Polypeptide Receptor 1 (VPAC1) is a member of a family of three G-protein coupled receptors mediating VIP (vasoactive intestinal peptide) and PACAP (pituitary adenylate cyclase activating peptide) functions in various tissues. VPAC1 and VPAC2 receptors form a subtype of the VIP receptor family. Expression of VIP and PACAP receptors has been associated with the presence of certain human tumors.
