Target Information
The NLGN3 gene encodes a neuronal cell surface protein that may act as a splice site-specific ligand for beta-neurexins. It is involved in the formation and remodeling of central nervous system synapses. Mutations in NLGN3 may be associated with autism and Asperger syndrome. Multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.
