Target Information
PTK2B (FAK2) is a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase involved in calcium-induced regulation of ion channels and activation of the MAP kinase signaling pathway. It regulates actin cytoskeleton reorganization, cell polarization, migration, adhesion, spreading, and bone remodeling.
FAK2 also contributes to humoral immune response regulation and B-cell migration in the spleen. It functions downstream of integrin, collagen, immune, GPCR, cytokine, chemokine, and growth factor receptors, mediating responses to cellular stress.
Aberrant FAK2 expression may be associated with cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, with elevated expression observed in gliomas, hepatocellular carcinoma, lung cancer, and breast cancer.
