Target Information
PTK2B (FAK2) is a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase involved in calcium-induced regulation of ion channels and activation of the MAP kinase signaling pathway. It regulates actin cytoskeleton reorganization, cell polarization, migration, adhesion, spreading, and bone remodeling. FAK2 is also essential for proper humoral immune response and normal migration of splenic B-cells. Abnormal expression of FAK2 has been associated with tumor proliferation, migration, and invasion, with elevated levels observed in gliomas, hepatocellular carcinoma, lung cancer, and breast cancer.
