Target Information
FKBP5 is a member of the immunophilin protein family, which plays a role in immunoregulation and cellular processes involving protein folding and trafficking. It functions as a cis-trans prolyl isomerase that binds to immunosuppressants FK506 and rapamycin, mediating calcineurin inhibition. FKBP5 interacts with mature hetero-oligomeric progesterone receptor complexes along with HSP90 and P23 proteins. The FKBP5 gene has multiple polyadenylation sites, and alternative splicing produces several transcript variants.
