Product Specific Information

• Description: Monoclonal rat IgG1, kappa is useful as an isotype control immunoglobulin.
• Applications Reported: Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
• Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocyte suspensions. Use at the same concentration as the experimental antibody.
• Fluorochrome Information: Super Bright 600 is a tandem dye excited by the violet laser (405 nm) and emits at 600 nm. Recommended filter: 610/20 bandpass.
• Staining Buffer: When using multiple Super Bright dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.
• Light Sensitivity: Sensitive to photo-induced oxidation; protect from light.
• Fixation: Samples may be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal impact on brightness and FRET efficiency.

Target Information

Rat IgG1 is a subclass of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies produced by rats in response to an antigen. It is commonly used as a negative control in immunoassays, including immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and western blotting, as it does not bind to most mammalian antigens. Rat IgG1 antibodies are purified from serum or hybridoma culture supernatants and are essential tools in research and diagnostics for validating specificity and background levels.
