ACAD11 was originally isolated from rat liver peroxisomes. A total of 34 known peroxisomal proteins have been identified, along with several mitochondrial and microsomal proteins.
ACAD11 is a bi-functional protein containing an aminoglycoside phosphotransferase domain and an acyl-CoA dehydrogenase domain.
