• PA1-1960 detects proteasome 20S LMP2 from human and mouse cells.
• Suitable for Western blot applications. Detects an ~23 kDa protein (LMP2) and ~24 kDa precursor protein in mouse embryo fibroblast extracts.
• Immunogen: mixture of synthetic peptides corresponding to residues C R(207) V I L G N/D E L P K F Y D E(220) of human and mouse proteasome 20S LMP2.

Target Information

The proteasome is a multicatalytic proteinase complex with a highly ordered 20S core structure composed of four rings (two alpha and two beta rings, each with seven subunits). Proteasomes are abundant in eukaryotic cells and are responsible for peptide cleavage in an ATP/ubiquitin-dependent, non-lysosomal pathway.
The immunoproteasome variant processes class I MHC peptides. The PSMB9 gene encodes a 20S core beta subunit (proteasome B-type/T1B family) located in the MHC class II region. Proteolytic processing is required to generate the mature subunit.
