Specificity:
1C1 binds specifically to the amino-terminal LBD (ligand-binding domain) region of the EphA2 ectodomain (IgG1 KD ~0.8 nM; Fab KD ~140 nM) and not to other related human Eph receptors such as EphA1, EphA3, and EphA4, or any EphB receptor family members.
Target Information
EPHA2 belongs to the ephrin receptor subfamily of the protein tyrosine kinase family. EPH and EPH-related receptors are involved in developmental events, particularly in the nervous system. EPHA2 is overexpressed in many types of human cancers. The tyrosine kinase group regulates cell-cell interactions such as differentiation, adhesion, motility, and death. There are approximately 90 TK genes sequenced, including 58 receptor TKs (EGFR, EPH, FGFR, PDGFR, TRK, VEGFR families) and 32 cytosolic TKs (ABL, FAK, JAK, SRC families).
