Target Information
PCNA (Proliferating Cell Nuclear Antigen)는 DNA 복제에 필수적인 단백질로, DNA 절제 및 불일치 복구 경로에도 관여합니다.
PCNA는 CDK 억제제 p21, 구조 특이적 엔도뉴클레아제 Fen1 및 XPG, DNA cytosine 5-methyltransferase (MCMT)와 결합합니다.
세포 증식 가능성이 있는 세포나 종양 조직의 증식 상태를 확인하는 유용한 마커로 활용되며, 세포 주기의 G1 및 S기 세포에서 발현됩니다.
핵 내에 존재하며 DNA polymerase δ의 보조인자로 작용하며, 호모트리머 형태로 leading strand 합성의 효율을 높입니다.
DNA 손상 시 PCNA는 유비퀴틴화되어 RAD6 의존적 DNA 복구 경로에 관여합니다.
두 가지 전사 변이체가 동일 단백질을 암호화하며, 염색체 4와 X 염색체에 PCNA 유사 유전자가 존재합니다.
