This antibody detects endogenous levels of total 5-Lipoxygenase.
Target Information
This gene encodes a protein which, together with Arachidonate 5-lipoxygenase-activating protein, is required for leukotriene synthesis. Leukotrienes are arachidonic acid metabolites implicated in various inflammatory responses such as asthma, arthritis, and psoriasis. This protein localizes to the plasma membrane. Inhibitors impede translocation of 5-lipoxygenase from the cytoplasm to the membrane, thereby inhibiting activation.
