Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Vimentin is a developmentally regulated intermediate filament protein found in cells of mesenchymal origin. It plays a role in intracellular transport of proteins between the nucleus and plasma membrane. Vimentin is expressed during early cellular development and later replaced by tissue-specific intermediate filament proteins.
It is involved in steroid synthesis regulation by serving as a storage network for cholesterol-containing lipid droplets. Phosphorylation by protein kinase leads to filament breakdown and cytoskeletal changes facilitating cholesterol transport to mitochondria, enhancing steroid synthesis.
