Description

CELLBANKER® 2 is a serum-free cell cryopreservation medium with a unique complete formulation for a broad spectrum of mammalian cell cultures.
The formulation enables stable cryopreservation and high viability after freeze-thaw procedures, minimizing contamination risks from serum components.
Optimum for serum-free cultured cells and peptide/protein expressing cells cryopreservation.

Protocol

Freezing

For optimum results, cells should be in log phase of growth.
Standard freezing protocols may be applied.

  1. Ensure cell culture is healthy and contamination-free.
  2. Perform a cell count to determine viability.
  3. Centrifuge (3–5 min at 1,000–2,000 rpm, 4℃) and remove supernatant.
  4. Suspend cells in CELLBANKER® medium (1 mL for 5×10⁵–5×10⁶ cells).
  5. Dispense 1 mL aliquots into labeled cryovials.
  6. Store directly at -80℃. Optionally transfer to liquid nitrogen after 24 h.

IMPORTANT: Optimum protocol may vary by cell type.

Procedure for Use (from image):

  1. Culture
  2. Centrifuge
  3. Remove Supernatant
  4. Suspend with CELLBANKER
  5. Aliquot
  6. -80°C (directly)
  7. Optional

Thawing

  1. Quickly thaw frozen cells in a 37℃ shaking water bath.
  2. Dilute each 1 mL of cells with 10 mL of complete medium.
  3. Centrifuge (3–5 min at 1,000–2,000 rpm, 4℃) and remove supernatant.
  4. Resuspend cells in complete medium and plate in a culture flask.
  5. Continue culture as standard.

Storage and Stability

Store at 2–8℃ or below -20℃.
Stable for 3 years after manufacture under unopened condition at 2–8℃.
