Description:
This 3C10C5 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD290, also known as Toll-like receptor 10 (TLR10). This type I transmembrane glycoprotein is expressed on B cells, monocytes, regulatory T cells (Tregs), and plasmacytoid dendritic cells. CD290 expression depends on Foxp3 and NFAT in Tregs. CD290 can self-dimerize and heterodimerize with other TLR family members such as TLR1 and TLR2. Ligand binding leads to association with the adapter molecule MyD88 and activation of signaling pathways. Although ligands remain undefined, CD290 is associated with immune responses against microbial and fungal infections and autoimmune diseases such as Crohn’s disease and systemic lupus erythematosus.

Applications Reported:
This 3C10C5 antibody is reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test. A test is defined as the amount of antibody that stains a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL. Cell number may range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test.

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family, which plays a key role in pathogen recognition and innate immunity activation. TLRs are conserved from Drosophila to humans, recognizing pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) on infectious agents and mediating cytokine production for effective immunity. TLR10 is highly expressed in lymphoid tissues such as spleen, lymph node, thymus, and tonsil. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
