This BM16 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD294, also known as G protein-coupled receptor-44 (GPR-44) or chemoattractant receptor expressed on Th2 cells (CRTH2).
CD294 is expressed on Th2 cells, some CD8+ cells, eosinophils, and basophils. It binds prostaglandin D2 (PGD2), promoting leukocyte chemotaxis during allergic responses and mediating PGD2-dependent suppression of Th2 apoptosis via the PI3K pathway.

Target Information

CRTH2 (GPR44) is a chemoattractant receptor expressed on Th2 cells and eosinophils, serving as a receptor for PGD2. It mediates chemotaxis and regulates eosinophil and Th2 recruitment during allergic responses.
CRTH2-knockout mice exhibit enhanced eosinophil recruitment and increased IL-5 and IL-3 production, indicating CRTH2’s role in limiting eosinophilia.
CRTH2 is selectively expressed in Th2 cells, the CNS, and peripheral tissues, with two known transcript variants (3.5 kb and 3.4 kb).
Single nucleotide polymorphisms in the 3′ UTR of the CRTH2 gene have been linked to asthma susceptibility.
