Product Specific Information

MA5-15449 targets SOX2 in indirect ELISA and WB applications, showing reactivity with human samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of SOX2 (aa1–170) expressed in E. coli.
MA5-15449 detects SOX2, which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 34.3 kDa.

Target Information

SOX2 is an intronless gene encoding a member of the SRY-related HMG-box (SOX) family of transcription factors involved in embryonic development and cell fate determination.
The SOX2 protein is essential for stem-cell maintenance in the central nervous system and regulates gene expression in the stomach.
SOX2 lies within an intron of another gene, SOX2 overlapping transcript (SOX2OT).
It may act as a transcriptional activator by forming complexes with other proteins.
Mutations in the SOX2 gene are associated with bilateral anophthalmia, optic nerve hypoplasia, and syndromic microphthalmia.
