Target Information
The VCP protein is a member of a family of ATP-binding proteins involved in vesicle transport and fusion, 26S proteasome function, and peroxisome assembly. It interacts with clathrin and heat-shock protein Hsc70 to form complexes. VCP is implicated in multiple cellular events regulated during mitosis, including membrane fusion, spindle pole body function, and ubiquitin-dependent protein degradation.
