For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10⁶ cells in 100 µL.
Mouse anti-Rat CD11b, clone OX-42, recognizes rat CD11b (integrin alpha-M), the receptor for the iC3b component of complement.
CD11b is a 1151 amino acid single-pass type I transmembrane glycoprotein possessing a single vWFA domain and multiple FG-GAP repeats.

Target Information

Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha and a beta chain.
CD11b is involved in adhesive interactions of monocytes, macrophages, and granulocytes, and mediates uptake of complement-coated particles.
It is identical to CR3, the receptor for the iC3b fragment of the third complement component.
CD11b also serves as a receptor for fibrinogen, factor X, and ICAM1, recognizing P1 and P2 peptides of the fibrinogen gamma chain.

The Mac-1 (CD11b) antigen is expressed on macrophages, granulocytes, NK cells, and blood monocytes.
CD11b is expressed on approximately 8% of spleen cells, 44% of bone marrow cells, and less than 1% of thymocytes, and is commonly used as a microglial marker in nervous tissue.

CD11c encodes the integrin alpha X chain protein, which combines with the beta 2 chain (ITGB2) to form the leukocyte-specific integrin inactivated-C3b (iC3b) receptor 4 (CR4).
The alpha X beta 2 complex overlaps with alpha M beta 2 integrin in neutrophil and monocyte adherence to stimulated endothelium and in phagocytosis of complement-coated particles.
Mutations in the CD11b/c gene are associated with systemic lupus erythematosus 6.
