Product Specific Information

Specificity: This antibody is specific for the extracytoplasmic part of human CD53, a pan-leukocyte antigen.

Target Information

CD53 is a tetraspanin family transmembrane glycoprotein expressed in the lymphoid-myeloid lineage. It forms complexes with other leukocyte surface proteins such as CD2, CD19, CD21, MHC II, VLA-4, and tetraspanins CD37, CD81, CD82, modulating various signaling processes. CD53 contributes to radioresistance and has anti-apoptotic effects. In thymus, CD53 is up-regulated during T cell development and strongly expressed in macrophages exposed to bacterial lipopolysaccharide, while neutrophil stimulation down-regulates its expression.

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
