It has been successfully used in Western blot and ICC/IF procedures.
In Western blot analysis of HeLa cell cytosol, this antibody detects a ~66 kDa protein representing PKR.

Target Information
EIF2AK2 (PKR) is one of four kinases that specifically phosphorylate Ser51 of translation initiation factor eIF2-alpha in response to various environmental stresses.
PKR plays a key role in antiviral defense mediated through activation by double-stranded RNA produced by viral infection.
It is involved in IFN-induced innate antiviral response, virus-induced apoptosis, and regulation of cell growth and differentiation.
PKR induces apoptosis via Fas expression and mediates the FADD/Caspase-8 death signaling pathway.
Upon viral infection, PKR activates both cell survival and cell death pathways using kinase-independent and dependent mechanisms.
It regulates multiple pathways including NF-kappaB, p53, p38, and PDGF signaling.
PKR is implicated in tumor suppression and malignancy, as well as neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s, and ALS.
Viruses can evade PKR’s antiviral effects, for example, through inhibition by influenza virus NS1 protein.
