Target Information
Epitope tags enable localization of gene products in various cell types, study of protein topology and complexes, identification of associated proteins, and characterization of low-abundance or poorly immunogenic proteins when specific antibodies are unavailable.
The V5 epitope tag is derived from a small epitope (Pk) present on the P and V proteins of the paramyxovirus of simian virus (SV5).
The V5 tag typically includes 14 amino acids (GKPIPNPLLGLDST), but shorter sequences (IPNPLLGLD) are also used.
