Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, an additional desalting step is recommended (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

RARA is a receptor for retinoic acid. Retinoic acid receptors bind as heterodimers to their target response elements in response to ligands (all-trans or 9-cis retinoic acid) and regulate gene expression in various biological processes.
RXR/RAR heterodimers bind to retinoic acid response elements (RARE) composed of tandem 5'-AGGTCA-3' sites (DR1–DR5).
In the absence of ligand, RXR-RAR heterodimers associate with transcription corepressors leading to chromatin condensation and transcriptional suppression. Upon ligand binding, corepressors dissociate and coactivators are recruited, leading to transcriptional activation.
RARA is essential for retinoic acid-induced germ cell development during spermatogenesis, survival of early spermatocytes, and skeletal growth regulation in concert with RARG. It mediates retinoic acid-induced granulopoiesis and regulates target gene expression in a ligand-dependent manner.
