AKT1은 AKT1, AKT2, AKT3로 구성된 serine/threonine-protein kinase 계열 중 하나로, 대사, 세포 증식, 생존, 성장 및 혈관신생 등 다양한 생리적 과정을 조절합니다.
이는 다양한 하위 기질의 serine/threonine 잔기 인산화를 통해 매개되며, 100개 이상의 기질 후보가 보고되었습니다.
AKT는 인슐린 신호에 의해 SLC2A4/GLUT4 포도당 수송체를 세포 표면으로 이동시켜 포도당 흡수를 조절합니다.
PTPN1의 Ser-50 인산화는 인슐린 수용체 탈인산화를 억제하여 인슐린 신호의 약화를 방지합니다.
또한 AKT는 GSK3A(Ser-21)와 GSK3B(Ser-9)를 인산화하여 글리코겐 합성을 촉진합니다.
