Description:
The AT8 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse Ly-49G receptor from 129, FVB, BALB/c, C3H, CBA, SJL, and A/J strains, but not C57Bl/6 mice. Ly49G, a member of the Ly49 family, is expressed by NK cell subsets.

Applications Reported:
The AT-8 (AT8) antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
The AT-8 (AT8) antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. It can be used at ≤1 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Optimal antibody titration is recommended for each assay.
Cell number may range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test.

Target Information

Mouse Ly49 receptors exhibit allelic specificity for MHC class I Ia molecules and are thought to prevent NK cells from attacking normal cells while allowing attack on infected or transformed cells with down-regulated class I molecules. These inhibitory receptors are also expressed on subpopulations of mouse CD8+ T cells.
