Product Specific Information
- MA1-06102 detects lamin A and C in human, mouse, rat, bovine, hamster, sheep, and canine samples.
- Successfully used in immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry, FACS, and Western blotting procedures.
- Immunogen: purified rat liver lamins.
- Reacts with an epitope located between residues 319–566 in lamin A and C.
Target Information
Lamins are intermediate filament proteins forming a matrix on the inner surface of the nuclear envelope.
Lamins A and C are alternatively spliced versions of the LMNA gene.
Mutations in LMNA are associated with various disorders such as:
- Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy
- Dunnigan-type familial partial lipodystrophy (FPLD)
- Limb-girdle muscular dystrophy (LGMD1B)
- Dilated cardiomyopathy (CMD1A)
- Axonal neuropathy (Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease; CMT2B1)
- Mandibuloacral dysplasia (MAD)
