이 항체는 CD71 항원(Transferrin Receptor)의 세포외 epitope과 반응합니다. CD71은 활성화된 B 및 T 림프구, 대식세포, 적혈구 전구세포에 발현되는 95 kDa의 type II homodimeric transmembrane glycoprotein입니다. 휴지기 혈액 백혈구에서는 발현이 소실됩니다.
MEM-75 항체는 transferrin과 receptor의 결합을 차단하지 않습니다.
Target Information
세포 내 철 흡수는 transferrin receptor에 결합된 ligand가 수용체 매개 endocytosis를 통해 특수한 endosome으로 들어감으로써 이루어집니다. Endosome 내 산성화로 철이 방출되고, apotransferrin-receptor 복합체는 중성 pH로 복귀하면서 apotransferrin이 receptor에 대한 친화성을 잃고 세포 표면으로 재순환됩니다.
Transferrin receptor는 적혈구 및 신경계 발달에 필수적입니다. Serum transferrin receptor(sTfR)는 erythropoietin(EPO) 남용 탐지 및 다양한 원인에 의한 빈혈 진단(류마티스 관절염, 임신, 과민성 장 증후군, HIV 감염 등)에 사용됩니다.
