The monoclonal antibody RCR-227 reacts with human CD201 (Endothelial Protein C Receptor, EPCR), a 46-kDa transmembrane protein related to class I MHC.
CD201 is expressed on vascular endothelial cells, monocytes, lymphocytes, hematopoietic stem cells, neutrophils, and eosinophils. It serves as a binding site for protein C, activated protein C (APC), and factor VII/VIIa. A soluble form also exists in plasma.

CD201 plays a role in controlling coagulation; disruption of its gene in mice causes placental thrombosis and embryonic death. It is involved in anti-inflammatory responses, where APC binding to CD201 activates PAR-1, conferring cytoprotective effects and reducing secretion of proinflammatory cytokines, chemokines, and growth factors. CD201 also inhibits lymphocyte migration.

Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested on HUVECs at 5 µL (0.125 µg)/test.
A test is defined as the antibody amount staining a cell sample in 100 µL final volume (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Target Information

The gene encodes a receptor for activated protein C, a serine protease involved in blood coagulation. It is an N-glycosylated type I membrane protein enhancing protein C activation. Mutations are linked to venous thromboembolism, myocardial infarction, and late fetal loss during pregnancy.
