Product Specific Information

This NP4D6 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD203c, also known as ectonucleotide pyrophosphatase/phosphodiesterase 3 (E-NPP3). Members of the ENPP family catalyze hydrolysis of pyrophosphate and phosphodiester bonds to nucleoside 5-monophosphates. CD203c is a type II transmembrane protein expressed on basophils and mast cells, and its expression increases upon allergen or IgE crosslinking activation. Thus, CD203c serves as a marker for basophil activation in IgE-mediated allergic responses.

Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended use at 5 µL (0.125 µg) per 100 µL test volume. Cell number may vary (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Target Information

The encoded protein belongs to a family of ectoenzymes involved in hydrolysis of extracellular nucleotides, possessing ATPase and ATP pyrophosphatase activities. These are type II transmembrane proteins. Expression of the related rat gene has been observed in immature glial cells and the alimentary tract. The human protein is expressed in glioma cells, prostate, uterus, basophils, and mast cells.
