Chromogranin A (CHGA)는 신경내분비 분비 단백질 계열인 chromogranin/secretogranin 패밀리에 속하며, 뉴런 및 내분비 세포의 분비 소포에서 발견됩니다.
CHGA는 vasostatin, pancreastatin, parastatin 세 가지 생리활성 펩타이드의 전구체로, 이들은 신경내분비 시스템의 자가 또는 측분비 음성 조절자로 작용합니다.
CHGA는 카르시노이드 종양, 갈색세포종, 부신경절종 및 기타 신경내분비 종양의 우수한 마커로 사용됩니다.
Chromogranin A와 neuron specific enolase (NSE)의 공발현은 신경내분비 종양에서 흔히 관찰됩니다.
