TAOK2 (TAO1)은 스트레스 반응성 p38 MAP kinase 경로의 중요한 조절자로 알려진 세린/트레오닌 키나아제입니다.
TAO 단백질 키나아제 2 (TAO2)는 in vitro에서 MEK3, MEK4, MEK6을 활성화하여 p38 MAP kinase 및 JNK/SAPK를 인산화합니다.
TAO 단백질 키나아제는 생리적 자극으로부터 p38 MAPK로의 신호전달에 필수적인 역할을 하는 것으로 제안되었습니다.
TAO의 자가 인산화는 활성화 메커니즘에 관여하며, Ser181은 MEK 결합 도메인 내에 위치합니다.
