Product Specific Information
This antibody binds to the extracellular domain of TrkA and does not cross-react with TrkB. MNAC13 is specific to TrkA with negligible reactivity to TrkB and TrkC.
Target Information
NTRK1 (TRKA) belongs to the neurotrophic factor family of polypeptides essential for the development and maintenance of the mammalian nervous system. TrkA is a membrane-bound receptor that, upon neurotrophin binding, phosphorylates itself and members of the MAPK pathway. Its presence promotes cell differentiation and may influence sensory neuron subtype specification. Mutations in TrkA have been linked to congenital insensitivity to pain, anhidrosis, self-mutilating behavior, mental retardation, and cancer.
