This antibody binds specifically to the extracellular domain of human DDR1.


Target Information

DDR1 is a receptor tyrosine kinase activated by collagen and regulates adhesion, cell migration, and other cellular processes. Receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) are key mediators of cell communication with the microenvironment, influencing growth, differentiation, and metabolism.

The DDR1 protein is widely expressed in normal and transformed epithelial cells and activated by various collagen types (I–VI). It belongs to a subfamily of tyrosine kinase receptors sharing homology with the Dictyostelium discoideum protein discoidin I in their extracellular domain. Expression is mainly in epithelial tissues such as kidney, lung, gastrointestinal tract, and brain, and is overexpressed in several human tumors (breast, ovarian, esophageal, pediatric brain). The DDR1 gene is located on chromosome 6p21.3 near HLA class I genes and undergoes alternative splicing, producing multiple transcript variants.
