Product Specific Information

This antibody binds specifically to the extracellular domain of TrkA and does not cross-react with TrkB or TrkC. MNAC13 shows high specificity for TrkA with negligible reactivity to other related receptors.

Target Information

NTRK1 (TrkA) is a member of the neurotrophic factor receptor family, essential for the development and maintenance of the mammalian nervous system. TrkA is a membrane-bound receptor that, upon neurotrophin binding, undergoes autophosphorylation and activates the MAPK pathway. Its expression promotes cell differentiation and plays a role in sensory neuron subtype specification. Mutations in TrkA are associated with congenital insensitivity to pain, anhidrosis, self-mutilating behavior, mental retardation, and cancer.
