Target Information
NOS activity requires homodimerization and three cosubstrates (L-arginine, NADPH, O₂) along with five cofactors or prosthetic groups (FAD, FMN, calmodulin, tetrahydrobiopterin, heme).
Distinct NOS isoforms include:
- NOS1 (ncNOS): neuronal form
- NOS3 (ecNOS): endothelial form
