This MR54 monoclonal antibody reacts with human Trop-2 (Tumor-Associated Calcium Signal Transducer 2, TACSTD2, EGP-1).
Trop-2 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on trophoblasts, epithelial cells, and most human carcinoma cells, playing a role in calcium-mediated signaling.
It has been reported as an oncogene correlated with tumorigenesis, metastasis, and anchorage-independent growth.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation, western blotting, immunohistochemistry (FFPE tissue, IHC-P), ELISA, and immunocytochemistry (ICC).
Applications Tested: Tested on MCF7 cells and FFPE tissues using low or high pH antigen retrieval; high pH provides better staining intensity. Recommended ≤5 µg/mL and titration for optimal performance.

It belongs to a family of type I membrane proteins that transduce intracellular calcium signals and act as cell surface receptors.
Mutations in the TROP2 gene cause gelatinous drop-like corneal dystrophy, an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by severe corneal amyloidosis leading to blindness.
