Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).
Target Information
The ubiquitin (Ub) pathway involves three enzymatic steps that conjugate Ub and Ub-like molecules to specific protein substrates:
- Activation – The Ub C-terminus is activated by the E1 enzyme in an ATP-dependent manner.
- Conjugation – The activated Ub is transferred to the E2 enzyme, forming a Ub-E2 intermediate complex.
- Ligation – The E3 ligase catalyzes the transfer of Ub from E2 to the substrate protein.
UBE2E3 (also known as UBCH9) participates in the covalent attachment of ubiquitin to other proteins and regulates transepithelial sodium transport in renal cells. It may also play a role in cell growth arrest.
UBE2E3 shuttles between the cytoplasm and nucleus in an IPO11-dependent manner, is ubiquitously expressed at low levels, and is highly expressed in skeletal muscle.
