Target Information
Neurofilaments are intermediate filament proteins found specifically in neurons, composed mainly of NF-L, NF-M, and NF-H. NF-H plays an important role in maintaining neuronal caliber and is involved in mature axon structure. It has also been implicated in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
