Product Specific Information

Target Information

SHP-1 (PTPN6) is a non-receptor protein tyrosine phosphatase expressed primarily in hematopoietic cells. It consists of two SH2 domains, a tyrosine phosphatase catalytic domain, and a carboxy-terminal regulatory domain. SHP-1 functions to remove phosphates from target proteins, thereby downregulating several tyrosine kinase-regulated signaling pathways.
In hematopoietic cells, SHP-1 binds to tyrosine-phosphorylated erythropoietin receptors (EpoR) to negatively regulate hematopoietic growth. Overexpression in epithelial cells leads to dephosphorylation of the Ros receptor tyrosine kinase and suppression of Ros-dependent proliferation. In myeloid cells, SHP-1 associates with the IL-3R beta chain to downregulate IL-3-induced phosphorylation and proliferation.
