Target Information
The IFNGR1 gene encodes the ligand-binding alpha chain of the gamma interferon receptor. The human interferon-gamma receptor is a heterodimer composed of IFNGR1 and IFNGR2. Genetic variations in IFNGR1 are associated with susceptibility to Helicobacter pylori infection, and defects in this gene can cause Mendelian susceptibility to mycobacterial disease (familial disseminated atypical mycobacterial infection).
