Target Information
GAPDH (Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase)는 해당과정(glycolysis)에 관여하는 촉매 효소입니다. GAPDH는 37 kDa 크기의 동일한 4개 소단위체로 구성된 사량체 형태로 존재하며, NADPH 존재하에 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate를 glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate로 가역적으로 환원합니다.
GAPDH는 해당과정 외에도 DNA 복제, 수선, 핵 RNA 수출, 막 융합, 미세소관 결합 등 다양한 세포 과정에 관여합니다. 또한 신경퇴행성 질환, 암, 세포 사멸(apoptosis) 등에서 유전자 발현 조절에 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 보고되었습니다.
GAPDH는 대부분의 조직에서 높은 수준으로 발현되므로 Western blot 분석에서 단백질 로딩 컨트롤로 유용하게 사용됩니다.
