This antibody has specificity for Human Osteonectin/SPARC.
Target Information
The SPARC gene encodes a cysteine-rich acidic matrix-associated protein required for bone collagen calcification. It also plays a role in extracellular matrix synthesis and modulation of cell shape.
The gene product has been associated with tumor suppression but may also correlate with metastasis due to its influence on cell morphology and invasion.
Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
