This antibody detects endogenous levels of total POLR1C.
Target Information
RNA polymerases transcribe nuclear genes for ribosomal RNA, playing a key role in ribosomal biogenesis.
RNA polymerase I (Pol I) is located in the nucleolus and transcribes class I genes encoding large ribosomal RNA.
Different subunits of the Pol I transcription machinery respond to various physiological stimuli, indicating involvement of multiple signaling pathways in Pol I transcription.
RPA16, RPA40, and RPA135 are Pol I subunits that associate early in RNA Pol I assembly.
RPA40 is essential for the function and integrity of the complex and also serves as a critical subunit of RNA polymerase III (Pol III).
