The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Target Information

Chromosome 8, composed of approximately 146 million bases, encodes about 800 genes. Translocations involving chromosome 8 and amplification of the c-Myc gene are observed in certain leukemias and lymphomas, often associated with poor prognosis. Portions of chromosome 8 have been linked to schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Trisomy 8 (Warkany syndrome 2) typically results in early miscarriage but can appear in mosaic form, causing developmental and facial abnormalities. The WRN gene on chromosome 8 encodes a DNA helicase defective in Werner syndrome, an early aging disorder. Chromosome 8 is also associated with Pfeiffer syndrome, congenital hypothyroidism, and Waardenburg syndrome. The FKSG2 gene product has been provisionally designated FKSG2 pending further characterization.
