Target Information
Corticotropin-releasing factor receptor 1 (CRFR1/CRHR1) is involved in mediating stress response and anxiety-related behaviors. Mutations of this receptor may reduce anxiety-related behaviors and contribute to the pathogenesis of Cushing disease. Multiple isoforms are produced by alternative splicing. CRFR1 is expressed in pituitary, adrenal gland, brain, colon, ovary, placenta, testis, white blood cells, and skin. ESTs have been isolated from human brain, eye, colon, and embryo libraries.
