Target Information
Plectin is a major member of the plakin or cytolinker family, which interconnects different elements of the cytoskeleton. Plectin is expressed as multiple isoforms from a single gene on human chromosome 8. Isoform expression varies by cell type and developmental stage, with each isoform set contributing to distinct cellular functions.
