Product Specific Information

The 61D3 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD14, a 53–55 kDa GPI-linked glycoprotein expressed on monocytes, interfollicular macrophages, and some dendritic cells. Complexes of LPS and LBP (LPS-Binding Protein) bind with high affinity to monocytes through surface CD14.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test in 100 µL final volume.

Fluorochrome Information:
Alexa Fluor® 532 is excited with a Green laser (532 nm) and emits at 561 nm. It is not compatible with Yellow-Green (561 nm) lasers. Recommended filter: 560/14 band pass.

Target Information

CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein constitutively expressed on mature monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. It functions as a multifunctional lipopolysaccharide (LPS) receptor and exists in both membrane-bound and soluble forms. The soluble form (sCD14) can discriminate structural variations in LPS and contributes to neutralization of exogenous LPS in serum. CD14 also binds apoptotic cells and plays roles in allergic, inflammatory, and infectious processes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same isoform.
