The eBioEvan monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse and human Gata-4. In western blot analysis of C57Bl/6 and BALB/c mouse heart lysates, a single band is detected, indicating specificity for Gata-4 without cross-reactivity to Gata-5 or Gata-6.
This antibody has been successfully used in flow cytometry on HEK 293T cells transiently transfected with mouse or human Gata-4.

Gata-4 is part of the GATA transcription factor family, containing two zinc finger domains. The mouse Gata-4 gene encodes a 48 kDa protein involved in cardiomyocyte differentiation, proliferation, and survival. It is expressed during fetal development and in adult heart tissue, and also regulates gene expression in the gut, liver, and gonads.

Applications Tested:

• Western blot: Recommended starting dilution 2 µg/mL
• Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded human tissue: ≤ 5 µg/mL (low pH antigen retrieval)
  Antibody titration is recommended for optimal performance.

Target Information

GATA4 is a zinc-finger transcription factor recognizing the GATA motif in gene promoters. It regulates genes involved in embryogenesis and myocardial differentiation. Mutations in GATA4 are associated with cardiac septal defects.
